Friday Five

Posted on February 3rd, 2017

Friday!  We made it!  I continue to feel way more overwhelmed at work than I would like, hence the infrequent posting, but I’m looking forward to a fun weekend and a little recharging.

BrowsingPottery Barn’s new collection.  If you live in a little apartment and want to break free of the IKEA stronghold, this collection is for you.  Lots of little ways to add storage and function like this floor mirror or this set of hooks, and I can’t get over the price point of the sectional!  If you’re feeling extra ambitious and like a touch of the industrial, this lighting is amazingly affordable, as well.

Admiring… this innovation.  Retailers, including grocers, increasingly rely on experiences as a differentiating factor when competing for valuable consumer marketshare.  I think this idea is totally genius, and I for one would absolutely go out of my way to make this Whole Foods my home.  Like, I would even consider going to Midtown voluntarily.

Planning… for the Super Bowl.  I’m hosting fifteen people and making everything under the sun, but I’m most excited to try these french dip sliders.

Beaming with pride… for my dear friend of sixteen years, Jack, who was announced as the winner of the Goldberg playwriting prize earlier this week.  My friend, Hannah, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to send him flowers and embarrass him at work.  And now I’m embarrassing him on the internet.  If you’re in New York in April, you must go cheer him on!

Little gratitude… for Drybar dry shampoo.  Despite my friend Lexi’s best attempts and expert example, I was so, so late to the dry shampoo game– I always swore it wouldn’t work for me since I sweat so much on my morning run.  But I’ve eased my hair into it, and now when I hop off the treadmill some mornings I just rinse off, blow out my roots a bit, spray a little of the sweet stuff, and I’m good to go.
